A Valuable Education

Choosing the right college can be a difficult decision, but an important part of the Franciscan tradition is to make sure that each and every student reaches his/her goal. Since it is no surprise that a college education comes at a high price, we thought it is important for you to be aware that St. Francis College offers the most affordable private education in New York City. Nearly 84% of SFC students receive some form of financial aid including, federal and state grants, federal loans and newly increased amounts in institutional scholarships.

Tuition
With annual tuition and fees costing $18,100 (for 2011-12), St. Francis College offers one of the most affordable private school educations. Our tuition allows us to keep to our mission of educating families across the five boroughs, new immigrants and students from around the country and the world. Click for Tuition and Fees.  It's a fact: The average tuition for a private college education in the NY metropolitan area is approximately $30,000.

Financial Aid
The first important step in the financial aid process is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This will help the College determine what financial aid you are eligible to receive. Applying online at www.fafsa.ed.gov is the fastest and easiest way to complete your financial aid application. Click here for complete instructions on applying for all forms of financial aid at St. Francis College.

Scholarships
For many years, St. Francis has maintained a generous scholarship program, offering awards ranging from nearly full tuition to incentive awards that cover the four-year cycle of a full-time undergraduate education. These awards are granted to students of high achievement who show promise of academic success at the college level. The College has recently expanded these scholarships opportunities and increased the amounts awarded to high school seniors starting at St. Francis College in September.
