Cost of Attendance

Need (as defined for financial aid)

Cost of Attendance (COA)

- Estimated Family Contribution (EFC)

_____________________________

= Student Need for Financial Aid

* As cost of attendance varies by school, so does a student's need.  After financial aid, out of pocket expenses for students may not vary as greatly as the cost would indicate.

Direct Costs include Tuition, Mandatory Fees, and On Campus Room and Board.  For a complete list of direct costs, please see our tuition and fees page.

Indirect Costs include books, transportation and personal expenses.  These will not be billed directly to the student, but are calculated in a student's cost of attendance to determine each individual students' need.

Cost of attendance (COA) includes both direct and indirect costs the student incurs during the fall and spring semester.  The University of Saint Francis uses an average of student body expenses to calculate each student's COA budget based on enrollment status, housing status and division.  Please click on the appropriate link below to see 2008-2009 COA budgets.
