University Honors Student Writers and Artists
in Apostrophe Magazine
April 10, 2008, Fort Wayne, Indiana:
The University of Saint Francis Department of English
and Foreign Languages will recognize three of its
outstanding writers during the Apostrophe
publication party on April 17 at 6:30 p.m. in Bass
Mansion.
Apostrophe is the
university’s annual literary magazine. The magazine
features a select group of exceptional student, staff,
and alumni artwork, poetry, and prose.
Students who will receive the James
M. Pictor Literary Award are Beth Avila, a senior double
majoring in History and English, for Poetry and Ben
Ricker, a Special Education major from Fort Wayne, for
Fiction. Megan Ramsey, a first-year nursing student from
Churubusco, Indiana, is the winner of the Center for
Franciscan Spirit and Life Essay Contest for her essay
on the importance of service to one another, society,
and the Church.
In total, 22 students have been
included in this year’s publication and will be honored
during the annual reading and reception at on April 17.
