Teacher Recognition Showcase to be Held
at the University of Saint Francis
January 23, 2008, Fort Wayne,
Indiana: The University of Saint Francis Center for
Academic Excellence and Scholarship will host the Best
Practices Teacher Recognition Showcase, highlighting
teachers who demonstrate outstanding classroom practices
on February 2 at 8:30 a.m. in the Pope John Paul II
Center.
The keynote speaker will be Dr.
Patty Martone, former Assistant Superintendent of Fort
Wayne Community Schools and winner of numerous awards,
including Fort Wayne Citizen of the Year, Fort Wayne
First Woman and Allen County Woman of the Year. Dr.
Martone will present “A Challenging Career: A Rich
Retirement.” There will be three thirty-minute
workshop/table talk sessions from 9:00 to 10:50 a.m.
followed by a box lunch and Dr. Martone’s speech at
11:00 a.m. The cost is $5.00 pre-registration and $10.00
at the door. Students are $5.00. The deadline to
register is Tuesday, January 29.
