Forbes.com releases its new list of America's Top Colleges and for the seventh year in a row St. Francis College has been selected for the honor based on post-graduate success, student debt and student satisfaction.

St. Francis College's Center for Entrepreneurship along with the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, and New York Business Development Corporation have teamed up to highlight and address these obstacles at the inaugural "Minority Entrepreneurs Summit" to be held at the New York Stock Exchange on September 15.

With a snowboarding gold medal in sight, Kevin Pearce suffered a traumatic brain injury after a gruesome fall and began a never-ending fight to recover. He comes to St. Francis College Tuesday, September 23 at 11:10 in the College's Founders Hall to share his story as well as a documentary on his struggle, The Crash Reel.

Continuing the story that began in her 2009 film, The Hand of Fatima, St. Francis College Professor Augusta Palmer has now curated the exhibition, Jajouka: The Master Musicians of Morocco, at the Arab American National Museum in Michigan, running through November 2.

For the first time in program history, the St. Francis Brooklyn women's basketball team has been invited to compete in the Preseason Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT). The women will face Albany, upstate, on November 14 at 7pm.

Alan Astro, Professor of Languages & Literature at Trinity University, speaks about Elie Wiesel's Night, the archetypal Holocaust survivor account which was originally published in Yiddish. Critics have claimed that the translations into French and English mute Wiesel's anger at the non-Jewish world and casts the Holocaust in Christian, rather than Jewish, terms. This presentation will show how the charge is unfair. Rather, the original and the translations of Night blend Jewish and Christian world-views.

Spencer Educational Foundation, Inc. has awarded St. Francis College a $50,000 grant to develop new modules that will teach Risk Management to entry level and upper level management and finance students at the College. The grant is funded by RIMS, the risk management society.

Professor Alison Dell introduced her Molecular Biology Class to the online, international competition PHYLO. The goal of the game is to figure out ways to match sets of DNA to help look for ways to identify and further genetic disease research.
