Honoree Spotlight

Monte Redman

Monte N. Redman is President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Astoria Financial Corporation and its subsidiary Astoria Federal Savings and Loan Association.  Mr. Redman joined Astoria Federal in 1977. He served in various accounting, investment and treasury positions during his tenure, including Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and was most recently President and Chief Operating Officer.  He was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and elected to the Board of Directors on July 1, 2011.

Honoree Spotlight

Denis J. Salamone

Denis J. Salamone '75 is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Hudson City Savings Bank since December 2010.  Prior to assuming this position, Mr. Salamone served as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since January 1, 2002.  He was elected to the Board of Directors in October 2001. 


Charter Award Dinner

The Charter Award Dinner began in 1962 by the St. Francis Board of Trustees to commemorate New York State granting the College a charter and the right to confer diplomas, honors and degrees. For 50 years, the Charter Award Dinner has been the College’s premier fundraising event and has raised millions of dollars to support scholarships programs and further the educational mission at St. Francis.

52nd Annual Dinner

St. Francis College's 52nd Annual Charter Award Dinner was held on Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square. 

This year St. Francis College honored:
Monte N. Redman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Astoria Federal Savings and
Denis J. Salamone '75, President and Chief Operating Officer of Hudson City Bancorp Inc. and Hudson City Savings Bank.
