Michael Nye is a nationally recognized photojournalist that has documented a variety of subjects over the past decade from his base studio in San Antonio, Texas. He personally develops his large format silver gelatin prints and accompanies each portrait with audio containing voice documentation of each subject. In his exhibition About Hunger & Resilience, Nye traveled around the United States, including Fort Wayne documenting individuals and families coping with personal hunger and the lack of food. The fifty portraits and audio stories reveal the courage and fragility of those individuals who have experienced hunger. In simple, eloquent detail, these voices and images draw you closer into their lives. This exhibition has been made possible through a partnership with the Fort Wayne Harvest Food Bank. An Artist's Lecture by Michael Nye will be held prior to the opening at 6pm in the North Campus Auditorium (2702 Spring Street). All events are free of charge.
