Studio Art Program
The Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art prepares you for a position in studio arts-related job markets and gives you all the necessary skills to succeed in graduate study. The program features a sound traditional arts core curriculum with concentrations in Drawing, Painting, Photography, Ceramics, Sculpture, Printmaking, and Crafts. Each concentration is supported by a fully equipped studio, designed to facilitate learning and creativity and accommodate the industry health and safety standards.
Opportunities for Studio Art Students
Opportunities for you to exhibit your artwork locally, regionally and nationally help build your resume and establish your professional career. All students in studio art are required to complete an internship which provides opportunities to explore a wide variety of career options.
In addition to the challenging classes in the School of Creative Arts, students can take advantage of opportunities that promote and support leadership skills, organizational skills and service including:
- Studio Art-related campus clubs
- Art League’s intent is to further the students art education outside the classroom.
- The goal of f/8 Photography Club is to expand a student’s knowledge of photography both as an art form and a career.
- Strong relationships with area businesses, fine art studios and non-profit organizations
- Lecture programs and field trips both on and off campus
- Personal studio spaces in the Rolland Annex
