Board of Trustees
The St. Francis College Board of Trustees appointed Tim Cecere as President, effective April 18, 2024.
Dear SFC Community:
It is my great privilege to announce that the St. Francis College Board of Trustees has unanimously named Timothy Cecere as the 20th President of the College, effective immediately.
A forward-thinking, strategic leader and seasoned steward of institutional transformation, President Cecere has been serving as Interim President since July 2023. Prior to assuming the position of Interim President of the College, he was Acting President from March 2023 to July 2023, and Chief Operating Officer from August 2022 to March 2023.
Prior to commencing employment at St. Francis College, President Cecere was a member of the Board of Trustees. He recognized the College’s needs and stepped in to offer his expertise at the perfect time. President Cecere brings decades of experience in institutional effectiveness, administrative operations, strategic positioning, human resources, and talent development and management, from his work with WPP, the world’s largest advertising, media and public relations company.
Born in Brooklyn, President Cecere is among the first in his family to attend college, and truly committed to the role this institution can play in the city where he was raised. President Cecere earned degrees in psychology and business from St. John’s University and a master’s degree in organizational psychology from Columbia University. President Cecere is also the proud parent of a St. Francis College graduate.
President Cecere is uniquely qualified to lead St. Francis College into the future. With his proven leadership, steadfast commitment to academic excellence, and innovative vision, he is the perfect choice to ensure that the College continues to play a vital role in helping each generation become leaders and impactful members in their fields and community, just as the Franciscan Brothers envisaged almost 165 years ago. The Board of Trustees has full confidence in President Cecere to guide St. Francis College through the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and to carry on the College’s legacy.
