Dr. Rachel Dieterich, PhD, MSN, RN is currently an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Saint Francis College where she joined the nursing faculty in January 2021. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Future of Nursing Scholar with a research focus on breastfeeding disparities among individuals with overweight or obesity and among minority population groups. Her dissertation was titled “The Relationship between Perinatal Weight Stigma and Breastfeeding Outcomes: A Mixed-Methods Study” which examined the influence of weight-based discrimination on breastfeeding behavior. Dieterich hopes to continue her research trajectory while serving as a nursing educator at SFC. Dieterich is excited to join the SFC family where she hopes to grow in her new role as nursing faculty, and gain valuable teaching and mentoring experience.
