Maureen Lawrence Joins St. Francis College as Chief Financial Officer

St. Francis College announced today that Maureen Lawrence has been named the College's Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Lawrence will spearhead St. Francis College's long-term financial strategy, with oversight of the annual operating budget and the College's endowment.

"Maureen is exceptionally well-qualified to assume a financial leadership role at St. Francis as we take on significant fiscal challenges for the coming years," said Dr. Miguel Martinez-Saenz, SFC President. "Her track record of both managing complex budgets day-to-day and creating and delivering on a clear financial vision make her an invaluable asset to our leadership team. We're thrilled to welcome her."

Lawrence has nearly two decades experience in budget and finance, facilities management and campus planning. She comes to St. Francis College from Middlesex County College (MCC) in Edison, New Jersey, where she served two years as Vice President of Finance and Administration, advising the President on all matters related to MCC's operating and capital budget of more than $88 million.

Prior to MCC, Lawrence held increasingly more senior roles over a 14 year tenure at Brookdale Community College (BCC) in Lincroft, New Jersey, with her final six years as Vice President of Finance and Operations in the President's Cabinet. Lawrence oversaw nearly $40 million in campus renovations and expansions at BCC. In 2015, NJBiz named her the CFO of the Year in the Non-Profit Organization category.

"My mom is a St. Francis alumna, so the opportunity at St. Francis really spoke to me," said Lawrence. "I've had my hand in almost all areas of a college in the non-academic side of the house. I think that really prepares me for my next challenge at St. Francis and helping position the College strategically for a long, bright future."

Lawrence obtained her undergraduate degree in accounting from Monmouth University, her Masters in Administrative Sciences from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education from Seton Hall University.
