As we near the start of the fall semester, we want to announce an important additional step that St. Francis College has taken in the battle against COVID-19.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement for SFC Employees: After much thoughtful review, SFC will join the growing number of colleges, government agencies, and businesses and require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

All employees must submit COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination on or before the start of fall semester on September 8, 2021. Employees who have already uploaded their information need not do so again.

Employees who are fully vaccinated now and have not yet submitted a Proof of Vaccination form are asked to do so right away.

If you have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine, please know that it is readily available throughout New York City and elsewhere. Find a vaccine site near you at Vaccines.gov. In addition, under New York State Law, employees are eligible to be granted up to four hours of excused leave per injection, which will not be charged against any of their earned or accrued leave time.

Considering the current state of the pandemic and the spread of the Delta variant, the College has concluded that the danger of having non-vaccinated employees on-campus poses too great a risk and would fail to provide the necessary confidence that our community is sufficiently protected against COVID-19. The College does not make this decision lightly and we look forward to working with all employees, including the SFC adjunct faculty union, to carefully and thoughtfully implement this vaccination requirement in the coming weeks.
