St. Francis College is pleased to welcome Marc Morial, President of National Urban League, as a guest at the College's Dr. Frank Greene Lecture series, honoring Dr. Greene, an art historian who established and led the SFC Honors Program for many years. Each year's lecture follows the theme of the Honors Program's freshman seminar and includes a distinguished speaker on that topic. This year, the theme is Power and Leadership.

"Marc Morial's lifetime commitment to public service has led him on a career path like no other, and I'm thrilled to hear his views on how we can all responsibly pursue power and leadership, and elevate others who do the same, even amidst challenging circumstances," said President Martinez-Saenz. "As one of the nation's most important civil rights leaders, I very much look forward to a robust and thought-provoking conversation that is extraordinarily timely on the eve of our national election."

Founded in 1910, the Urban League collaborates at the national and local levels with community leaders, policymakers and corporate partners to elevate standards of living for African Americans and other historically underserved groups. It is nonpartisan, and dedicated to economic empowerment, equality, and social justice. Morial has served as its President and CEO since 2003.
