Program overview

The minor in Drama enables students to focus on courses in drama along with annual public lectures and events related to performance, dramaturgy, and contemporary New York theater. The minor is designed for students who want to learn more about theatrical practice and spectacle.

PLO 1: Organize thoughts into sentences and paragraphs with clear structure using forceful and energetic prose
PLO 2: Examine multiple identities and communities in personal and global contexts through the study of diverse literature and experiences.
PLO 3: Demonstrate competence in multimodal forms of written expression.
PLO 4: Employ a set of skills in publishing, analytical, research-driven, and creative writing.

CURRICULUM HIGHLIGHTS

The curriculum emphasizes the development of strong writing skills, guiding students to organize their ideas into clear, well-structured sentences and paragraphs while cultivating a confident and engaging prose style. Through the study of diverse literary works and cultural perspectives, students explore multiple identities and communities in both personal and global contexts.

 Courses also encourage students to engage with multimodal forms of written expression, integrating digital media and contemporary communication tools. In addition, the program develops a versatile set of skills in publishing, analytical writing, research-based inquiry, and creative writing, preparing students to communicate effectively across a variety of academic and professional settings.
