About the Program

St. Francis College's Early Assurance BA/MD is available to any SFC student who aspires to a career as a medical doctor. After successfully completing the below requirements, SFC students will have secured a seat as a medical student at St. George's University.

  • Qualified students are eligible to be considered for all SGU scholarships including the CityDoctors Scholarship with NYC Health + Hospitals
  • SGU provides alumni mentoring, hands-on clinical skills workshops, and comprehensive information sessions.
  • 75+ hospitals and health systems in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom offer clinical and ambulatory training for SGU students.

GPA Requirements

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.4
  • Science GPA of 3.2
  • MCAT Score of 498
  • Complete application to SGU during the spring semester of your Junior year at SFC.

  • General Biology I and Lab (BIO 1201), 5 Credits
  • General Biology II and Lab (BIO 1202), 5 Credits
  • General Chemistry I and Lab (CHE 1201), 5 Credits
  • General Chemistry II and Lab (CHE 1202), 5 Credits
  • Organic Chemistry I and Lab (CHE 2101), 5 Credits
  • Organic Chemistry II and Lab (CHE 2102), 5 Credits
  • General Physics I and Lab (PHY 2001), 4 Credits
  • Statistics (MAT 2301), 3 credits, or Calculus I (MAT 2202), 4 Credits
  • One 2000-level Literature Writing and Publishing course, 3 Credits
