On May 7, 2025 , St. Francis College proudly hosted our 2nd Annual National Nurses Week Appreciation Breakfast, bringing together nursing students, faculty, and staff to honor the incredible contributions of nurses in our community.

This event celebrated the strength, resilience, and compassion that define the nursing profession. Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system, and this event was a heartfelt tribute to their essential role in delivering innovative, patient-centered care.

We were honored to hear opening remarks from Mary Kate Kasler, Chair of the SFC Nursing Department, who spoke about the dedication and promise of our future nurses.

We also welcomed Samantha Johnson, Community Liaison for Congresswoman Nydia Velasquez’s office, and were inspired by our keynote speaker, Monica Staley Liang, RN, BScN, LLB, Senior Vice President, Academic and Career Supports at St. Clair College, who shared a powerful message on leadership, courage, and the future of nursing.

This event also marked the beginning of an exciting new partnership with St. Clair College, reinforcing our commitment to preparing students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to soar in their nursing careers.
