Student Government Association
“Start by doing what is necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” ~St. Francis of Assisi
Welcome to the Student Government Association Website and thanks for visiting! SGA’s main purpose is to help you, the student, in any way possible. We are here to listen to your praises and complaints about the college. We constantly work to support the creation of more clubs and fund them to the best of our ability. It is our goal to help add to the vibrant, diverse community of students that are proud to say they attend St. Francis College.
The SGA is the voice and advocate of every student at St. Francis College. We are committed to enhancing the entire student experience and promoting the image of the College and its students by holding ourselves to the highest standards, leading with integrity and selflessly serving the College community and beyond.
The Student Government Association (SGA) is comprised of four executive officers; President, Vice-President, Speaker of SACOR and Treasurer, and the senators. A Speaker of the senate is appointed by the SGA to assist with the planning of meetings, events and daily responsibilities. The Senate is a group of selected individuals who help deliver student problems and issues to the executives and administration, represent the voice of each and every single student on campus, promote events and activities, and assist the SGA executive officers.
Political Science/ Minor in History, Economics
I am the President of the Student Government Association at St. Francis College. I'm in my senior year as a political science major with a minor in history and economics. Previously, I held the Speaker of Senate position.
I am a junior studying sociology, expected to graduate in May of 2019. Until then I plan to give back to St. Francis College as much as I can; that's why I joined the Student Government Association. I'm also involved with the Office of Student Activities and Student Engagement, the Office of Special Events, the Athletic Department, Student Ambassadors and manager of the Women’s Basketball Team.
Economics & Political Science
Speaker of SACOR
I am the Speaker of Student Activities Counsel of Representatives (SACOR). I'm currently a junior studying Economics, with a concentration in Public Policy, and Political Science. I joined Student Government to make a difference in the school, one step at a time.

My name is Joseph Gaviria, I am currently the Student Government Association Treasurer. I am also Vice president of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity Inc, aspiring CPA, Member of the Accounting Society, Entrepreneurship and Finance Clubs.
My name is Ciara and I'm a junior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice.
I aspire to be an entertainment lawyer; it's my dream.
I want to advocate for the student body and be a part of making a positive difference within SFC. My position in the Student Government Association is important to me because I want to make my schoolmates feel valued and heard within St. Francis College.
I'm Telequa, a Health Promotion and Nursing student (yes, I'm double majoring... I know). I participate in many Clubs and Organizations; such as Alpha Sigma Zeta Multicultural Sorority Incorporated, Caribbean Students Association, and as of this year, Student Government Association.
I'm Joseph, a communications major with a concentration in television production. I joined the SGA because I enjoy planning events and working with fellow students. I am a project access scholarship winner and I also work at the St. Francis College Library.
My name is Kayla-Marie and I'm a biology major and Spanish-language minor. As an aspiring physician I want to dedicate my life to advocating and serving those in need and the underrepresented.
For this reason I've been a part of the SGA as a senator since my first semester of college, as well as L.A.S., an ally of LGBTQ, Pre-Med Club, and Kappa Theta Nu Sorority.
My name is Mohammed and I am originally from India. I like startups and am VP of the Finance club and an honorary member of investment club. I joined the Student Government Association to help promote student involvement on campus and create a dynamic social platform for students to network and socialize.
