Dr. Chih-Yuan Li is an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science and Cybersecurity at St. Francis College, where he leads faculty recruitment, program development, and strategic initiatives to strengthen AI, machine learning, and cybersecurity education. He has overseen the successful establishment of the College’s four academic programs (BS in Computer Science, MS in Computer Science, BS in Cybersecurity, and MS in Cybersecurity), ensuring alignment with institutional goals and national workforce needs.

Dr. Li spearheaded the creation of the College’s first graduate program in the field of Cybersecurity, which received formal approval from the New York State Education Department in September 2025. He also directed the development of the BS in Cybersecurity program, approved in August 2025.

His teaching focuses on AI, data analytics, algorithms, and applied computing, using project-based methods to prepare students for real-world challenges.

His research centers on AI-driven approaches to information integrity, social media analysis, and cybersecurity education, with the goal of addressing pressing challenges in misinformation detection and workforce development. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.
