Cybersecurity & Critical Infrastructure Protection, B.S.

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection prepares students to protect the digital and physical systems that power modern society, including energy grids, transportation networks, healthcare systems, financial services, and government operations. The program builds a strong foundation in cybersecurity principles, network defense, programming, risk management, incident response, and security architecture, while helping students understand how critical infrastructure systems operate and how they are targeted by evolving cyber threats.

Through a curriculum that blends technical training with policy, compliance, and strategic thinking, students explore areas such as cryptography, cloud security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, and AI-driven cybersecurity. Hands-on labs, simulations, and applied projects give students practical experience in identifying vulnerabilities, responding to incidents, and designing security solutions for real-world environments. Graduates are prepared for careers in cybersecurity across government, private industry, and critical infrastructure sectors.

PROGRAM LEARNING OBJECTIVES

PLO 1. Execute cybersecurity strategies for critical infrastructure.

PLO 2. Perform penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and forensic investigations to detect and mitigate cyber threats.

PLO 3. Apply security frameworks, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements, including ISO 27001, NIST RMF, and CISA guidelines.

PLO 4. Utilize industry-standard tools and technologies, including Kali Linux, Metasploit, Splunk, Wireshark, AWS Security Services, and ICS/SCADA security solutions.

PLO 5. Analyze cyber risk in financial terms, integrating risk quantification, cyber insurance, and governance strategies.

PLO 6. Prepare for professional cybersecurity certifications, ensuring career readiness in SOC operations, red teaming, digital forensics, and cybersecurity leadership.
