Program Overview:
The Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies at St. Francis College provides students with a strong foundation in educational theory, policy, psychology, technology, and social justice while preparing them for careers in education and related fields. Through a combination of liberal arts coursework and specialized education courses, students develop critical thinking, communication, research, and leadership skills needed to support diverse learners and educational communities. Students can also build expertise in public advocacy, data literacy, or technology literacy through a designated literacy strand. Grounded in St. Francis College's commitment to academic excellence and service, the Educational Studies program prepares graduates for careers in educational organizations, nonprofit agencies, community programs, and graduate study in education and related disciplines.

PLO 1: Teacher candidates demonstrate the ability to recognize the range of individual differences in how students learn and customize instruction to accommodate such diversity.
PLO 2: Teacher candidates demonstrate the ability to develop culturally responsive curriculum and instruction that draws on linguistic and cultural diversity, as well as family background and community values as assets that can be used to promote learning.
PLO 3: Teacher candidates demonstrate the ability to maintain an inclusive learning environment that promotes positive social interactions, acceptance, collaboration, mutual respect, multicultural awareness, an appreciation of diversity, and a concern for others.
