Spotlight on Senior Citizen Writing Class

Every year, some of the brightest new voices in literature take their turn at the microphone at St. Francis College. The fact that these voices are coming from senior citizens may be surprising to some, but not to Mitch Levenberg, Director of of the College's Academic Enhancement Center, who has been teaching the free course for several years.

The readng of prose and poetry has been featured on TV and in the papers, most recently in the Brooklyn Eagle. (Read about the For Seniors Writing Class)

Senior Citizen Writers

This year's event, The Rainbow Bridge of Light: Voices From the Universe, takes place Monday,April 15 at 12:30 PM in the College's Founders Hall.

St. Francis College thanks the New York City Council and New York State Legislature for their support of the For Seniors program, which is funded under contract with the New York City Department for the Aging.
