St. Francis Again Named to forbes.com Best Colleges List
Ranked 6 of 19 in New York City
For the second year in a row, Forbes.com has named St. Francis College to its America’s Best Colleges List, placing St. Francis as the sixth best school out of the 19 that made the list from New York City.
“The Forbes list has particular meaning to us at St. Francis, because they are using a different kind of yardstick to measure success,” said St. Francis College President Brendan J. Dugan ’68. “They’re looking at things like cost and debt load, job prospects for new graduates and the quality and accessibility of teachers. These are all things we pride ourselves on.”
To compile the list, Forbes.com ranked 600 colleges across the country. This is the second year Forbes.com has compiled an America's Best Colleges List.
With tuition priced at a very cost conscious $16,000 for a full year, and dorm rooms available just a few blocks away, St. Francis College has become an increasingly popular destination, not just for students from New York City, but across the country and the world. For the second year in a row, the College has received a record number of applications.
“For some students, the tuition may cause them to take a look at what we have to offer,” said Vice President for Academic Affairs and Academic Dean Tim Houlihan. “Then, when they take a look at our programs and the success we have in placing students at both Graduate Schools and in a variety of careers, they realize St. Francis could be exactly what they’re looking for in a college experience.”
St. Francis College, founded in 1859 by the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn, is located in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. Since its founding, the College has pursued its Franciscan mission to provide an affordable, high-quality education to students from New York City’s five boroughs and beyond.
