The Staples Foundation is supporting St. Francis College and its goal of encouraging education and careers in science with a grant for $15,000 to support the College’s Summer Science Academy.

The Summer Science Academy, now in its 12th year, encourages high school juniors and seniors with a strong interest in the sciences to continue to follow their passion into college and beyond. The Academy is a three week, full day science experience that immerses students in hands on activities and educational trips in the field to promote the benefits of pursuing academic studies in various science related fields.

“We are very grateful to Staples for providing us the opportunity to continue to stress the importance of science with the next generation of students,” said Chair of the St. Francis Department of Biology & Health Promotion Kathleen A. Nolan. “This intensive three week program has made a difference in the lives of dozens of people. Now we’ll be able to help even more.”
