The Terriers for Terriers (Tft) Disaster Relief Fund

Donate now to help students affected by Hurricane Sandy

Our prayers and thoughts go out to all affected by Hurricane Sandy; this unprecedented natural disaster hit many parts of the Tri-State area including New York City and the East Coast which were hit the hardest. Many students at St. Francis College, alum as well as faculty and staff were severely impacted; particularly those in coastal communities like Coney Island, Breezy Point, the Rockaways, Gerritsen Beach, Red Hook, Howard Beach and Staten Island.

As students returned to campus today, they began to share some of their traumatic experiences, practical needs and grave concerns.

“The loss of homes in affected areas is having a severe emotional impact on our students – these are homes which have been in families for generations. Students are concerned for their families and the financial impact it will have on mortgages, temporary housing, the loss of part time-jobs and how they are going to afford to stay at St. Francis College. They need help now,” said Cheryl Howell, Ed.D., Dean of Student Affairs.

TFT Disaster Relief Fund will provide critical resources to those in the SFC family impacted by the horrific storm. A priority will be helping our students.

Your support will provide aid for immediate needs, including:

- Housing/Rent assistance
- Tuition Assistance
- Books/School supplies/Technology
- Other unexpected needs

"This request is like no other we have ever made before and hopefully, one we will not need to make again. We don’t want this tragedy to cost a single student the opportunity for an education at St. Francis, and a brighter future,” said Thomas Flood, Vice President for Development.

Please be as generous as you can. Visit TFT Disaster Relief Fund today.
