SFC Also Ranked 4th Most Diverse

U.S. News & World Report has again selected St. Francis College for its list of Best Regional Colleges in the North, moving the College six slots higher than on the previous list. St. Francis was also ranked the 4th Most Diverse Regional College in the North.

“We are always trying to improve the college experience for our students, from the introduction of new programs like American Studies to the just completed renovation of an Organic Chemistry lab,” said President Brendan J. Dugan ’68. “Everything we do here has two purposes; to give our students a competitive advantage in the workplace and to help them develop into a contributing member of the community.”

“Being listed as one of the most diverse Colleges supports one of the most important parts of our mission here,” said Executive Vice President June McGrisken. “Through the years, the changing makeup of New York City’s cultures and ethnicities has always been reflected in our population. Exposing our students to that incredible diversity is the best way to prepare them for a world that continues to become more complex and more globally connected.”

The U.S. News rankings are based on a number of criteria including assessments from peer colleges, graduation and retention rates and alumni giving. In past years St. Francis has also been ranked as a top Comprehensive College and Baccalaureate College.

In August, Forbes.com ranked St. Francis College on its America’s Best Colleges list for the fourth year in a row.

St. Francis College, founded in 1859 by the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn, is located in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. Since its founding, the College has pursued its Franciscan mission to provide an affordable, high-quality education to students from New York City’s five boroughs and beyond.
