I hold a B.S, in Liberal Studies from Excelsior College, Albany, New York; a Master of Education in Instructional Design; and Ph. D. in Curriculum and Instruction specializing in Learning Technology from The University of Texas at Austin. A US Navy veteran, serving in SEAL 2, I specialized in field communications, translation and photography. I worked as a Space Suit technician at Johnson Space Center in astronaut crew training for the Space Shuttle program.
With significant experience in K-12 Bilingual; ESL; and Special education, I have taught graduate education courses at The University of Texas at Austin and University of Texas San Antonio as well as working as instructional designer for the US Department of Education. I have taught in the teacher education department at the New York Institute of Technology and currently teaches in the teacher preparation program at St Francis College. My published works include flipped-learning; mobile-learning; creative thinking; and computational thinking.
