As a life long educator with over 35 years of experience in school, district, central and collegiate levels of education. My interests have been developed by learning and observing all tenants of education. My concentration is comprised of teacher support, building leadership capacity within the school setting. Have researched behavioral aspects of child development, I have a focused concentration on students with disabilities and social impact and stigmas that they face and are exposed to.
All of the aforementioned revolve around equity and the developing educational capacity and cognitive growth in marginalized communities. This is an ongoing study and research interest of mine. I believe that these values align with Franciscan values particularly “Reverence for all creation, solidarity with the poor and marginalized” My research has guided me to systematic practices to help develop teachers that educate through a diverse lens and also work with leaders to build capacity within future leaders.
