I am an Assistant Professor of Education and currently serve as Chair of the Education Department. Before entering higher education, I worked as a high school English teacher in the New York City Public Schools, an experience that continues to inform my teaching, scholarship, and commitment to preparing future educators.
My research focuses primarily on the analysis of young adult literature through a variety of critical and theoretical lenses. I have published work in this area and have presented at numerous academic conferences on topics related to teacher education, accreditation, working-class studies, and Italian American Studies. Through both my research and teaching, I am interested in exploring how literature, culture, and education intersect to shape learning experiences and educational opportunities.
At St. Francis College, I teach courses in educational psychology, methods of teaching, assessment and evaluation, and literacy instruction. I am passionate about helping future educators develop the knowledge, skills, and reflective practices necessary to create engaging, equitable, and effective learning environments.
