As an Assistant Professor of Psychology and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State, my interdisciplinary background spans industrial and organizational psychology, clinical psychology, counseling, and higher education, allowing me to approach psychology from both scientific and applied perspectives.
In the classroom, I strive to create supportive and intellectually engaging learning environments in which students feel encouraged to think critically, ask meaningful questions, and connect psychological theory and research with real-world experiences. I view teaching as a collaborative process and place particular emphasis on helping students develop confidence in their academic abilities and recognize the practical relevance of psychology in their personal and professional lives.
In addition to my academic work, I maintain a private psychotherapy and counseling practice. My clinical experience keeps me closely connected to the realities of psychological practice and informs how I teach topics related to mental health, human development, assessment, and ethical decision-making. My training in industrial and organizational psychology further shapes my interests in workplace well-being, leadership, professional development, and the ways individuals function within organizations, especially in terms of values congruence.
My scholarly interests include well-being, digital stress, online and adult education, learner support, counseling and clinical psychology, and psychologically responsive teaching. Across my teaching, clinical practice, and scholarship, I aim to make psychology accessible, relevant, and responsive to the needs of diverse learners and communities.
