I am a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and nursing educator with more than 20 years of experience in women's health, including gynecology, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and high-risk obstetrics. Throughout my career, I have remained passionate about advancing maternal-child health outcomes through clinical practice, education, and mentorship. In addition to my clinical work, I have taught nursing students across associate, and baccalaureate nursing programs, with a focus on maternal-newborn nursing, health assessment, fundamentals of nursing, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and medical-surgical nursing. I strive to create engaging learning environments that foster critical thinking, clinical judgment, and professional growth.
My professional interests include maternal health, simulation-based education, clinical competency development, and innovative teaching strategies that enhance student learning and patient outcomes. I completed a Healthcare Simulation Fellowship through the Institute for Medical Simulation and Advanced Learning (IMSAL), where I further developed expertise in experiential learning and simulation pedagogy. My scholarly interests focus on improving nursing education through active learning, clinical simulation, and the integration of evidence-based teaching practices. I am committed to preparing future nurses to deliver safe, compassionate, and equitable care while promoting excellence in nursing practice and education.
