I am a Nurse Educator dedicated to inspiring and supporting the next generation of nurses through meaningful education, mentorship, and clinical excellence. I began my nursing journey as a nurse in a Level I Trauma Hospital, where I developed a strong foundation in emergency, trauma, and critical care nursing. Throughout my career, I have gained experience caring for patients with complex medical, psychiatric, pediatric, and obstetric conditions, which has allowed me to bring diverse real-world clinical experiences into the classroom.
My passion is creating engaging learning environments that promote active learning, simulation, clinical judgment, and professional growth. I strive to empower nursing students and healthcare professionals to develop confidence, critical thinking skills, and evidence-based practice while providing safe, compassionate, and patient- and family-centered care. My areas of expertise include emergency nursing, trauma care, critical care, stroke care, medical-surgical nursing, pediatrics, psychiatric nursing, pharmacology, community health, gerontology, postpartum nursing, managed long-term care, and nursing mentorship.
Before pursuing nursing, I studied music for many years, which continues to influence the way I approach teaching and patient care. Music taught me discipline, creativity, and the importance of human connection, while nursing has taught me to admire the beautiful sounds of the human body through assessment. I believe both music and nursing have the power to heal the mind, body, and soul. It is a privilege to combine these passions by inspiring future nurses to listen deeply, think critically, and care compassionately.
