Co-Curricular Learning
Co-curricular learning refers to the structured learning activities that students engage with that complement St. Francis College’s formal curriculum. Experiences such as internships, global opportunities, and community involvement enhance student learning and advance the SFC Mission to educate the whole person.
Badges
Badges are digital credentials that you earn alongside your formal degree and that showcase the skills and knowledge you gain through your SFC experience. Badges can be displayed, accessed and independently verified online and are stackable, so you continue to earn new badges as you grow and develop.
Badges provide a seamless way for you to record and share your validated skills and achievements with future employers, helping translate learning outcomes into skills that both you and employers can understand. They give you agency over your learning and career path by highlighting the employer-valued skills you’ve either already demonstrated or still need to earn.
You can share your badges via social media or your resume, giving you an edge in the job market or when applying to graduate school. Keep your badges after you leave SFC — and earn new ones as part of your professional development and journey as a lifelong learner.
Pathways
Pathways are a series of badges or steps constructed for a more comprehensive learning experience. They are a visual demonstration of the intertwined and wide-ranging co-curricular learning you undergo at SFC.
St. Francis College offers three co-curricular learning pathways:
- Service-Oriented Leadership
- Global Citizenship
- Professional Development
These pathways are skills-based and supported by learning outcomes. The pathways are flexible and designed to grow as new learning opportunities arise.
