Get off to a Strong Start at SFC
Once all necessary admissions steps are completed, The Hub registers all incoming undergraduate students to SFC. This includes incoming first-year students and transfers, as well as students returning to SFC to finish their studies. All incoming students meet with advisors and/or complete a course questionnaire before the semester starts to confirm their course preferences, skills assessment scores, and previous coursework (if applicable). First-year students are then pre-registered for classes that are customized to meet the needs of their degree and receive their first-semester registration digitally for review prior to attending new-student orientation. At orientation, first-year students will then meet with advisors in small groups to review their courses in more detail and answer questions. Transfer and readmitting students meet with advisors to register one-on-one and receive an in-depth review of prior coursework, including transfer credits, before building a schedule within The Hub.
Online Success Workshops
The Undergraduate Student Hub also offers online workshops for academic and career success. Workshop topics include time management, study strategies, goal setting, career exploration and more. These sessions are sponsored by StudentLingo and are available 24/7 for FREE to all SFC students. If you have any questions, please speak with an advisor in The Hub.
