National Grid Scholarship and Internship Program

St. Francis College is proud of its long and deeply intertwined relationship with National Grid.

For decades, graduates of SFC have gone on to work at National Grid and its precursors, Brooklyn Union and KeySpan, some literally walked from their graduation to a new job the very next day.

In fact, more than 100 St. Francis College alumni have worked at National Grid over the years, including:

  • National Grid New York President Kenneth D. Daly '88
  • National Grid Vice President, U.S. Treasury Lorraine Lynch '91
  • Matthew Bertolotti '08
  • St. Francis College Executive Vice President June McGrisken '76
  • and dozens more.

In 2006, National Grid established the National Grid Scholarship and Internship Program, formalizing a process that had been going on for decades. St. Francis College Accounting students are awarded the opportunity to work at a Fortune 500 company and gain real-world experience that often leads to full employment.

Each year at the College's Charter Day Celebration, the newest recipients are welcomed to the National Grid family.

It's an amazing opportunity for our students, and provides National Grid with a steady stream of the College's best and brightest.
