Program overview
Earn your bachelor’s in Accounting at Brooklyn’s oldest private college. Graduates of the program regularly land enviable jobs at the prestigious Big Four accounting firms – Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC – as well as other large corporations, banks, brokerage houses, manufacturing firms, retail establishments, government agencies, and non-profit groups.
The B.S. in Accounting offers two tracks, the 151-credit CPA track and the 121-credit non-CPA track. Students enrolled in the CPA track have the opportunity to pursue a dual B.S./M.S. in Accountancy, which means earning both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in just five (5) years.
Underlying the focused, outcomes-driven curriculum is SFC’s robust General Education Program, which is the cornerstone of SFC and affirms its mission to graduate educated, well-rounded individuals who enter the workforce and work to change and culturally diversify the world.

PLO 1: Demonstrate the ability to prepare, interpret, and analyze financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), auditing standards, and other appropriate professional pronouncements of the accounting profession.

The successful completion of ACC-7998 Graduate Seminar in Accounting satisfies the College’s Comprehensive Examination/Thesis requirement.
Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree must complete one-half of their degree credits (i.e., a minimum of 60 credits) from courses in the Liberal Arts category.
A cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0 is required.
Before enrolling in graduate courses, students must be admitted to the graduate division.

The Combined B.S./M.S. in Accounting (C.P.A. Track) provides an accelerated pathway for students to complete both undergraduate and graduate degrees while meeting the educational requirements for CPA licensure. The curriculum develops strong foundations in financial and managerial accounting, auditing, and taxation, while emphasizing the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Students also gain experience with accounting technology, professional research, and communication skills, preparing them for leadership roles in accounting, finance, and public accounting.
