Forum on Migration: Traversing Through the Immigrant Universe in New York City

Join Dr. Judy Newton, an immigrant from Barbados and a retired NYPD detective for a discussion on some of the issues immigrants in New York City experience and overcome through perseverance, resistance and grit. Newton shares her immigratnt experience and career in NYC, the challenges she faced in law enforcement and her political campaign. Her presentation addresses the current immigration crisis in this ethnically diverse city, its effects and the ancillary services response.

Newton is president of the Newton Foundation and director of operations. She's also a board member at Sunsglow and a former city council candidate.
