Solar Eclipse Viewing Party
Students, faculty and staff are invited to see the moon pass in front of the sun during the latest solar eclipse.
- Estimated time of totality: 3:16 to 3:29 p.m. (the eclipse will start at 2:10 p.m. and end at 4:30 p.m.)
- The next total solar eclipse visible in New York City will not occur until 2079!
Starting at 2 p.m. on April 8, 120 CE/ISO-approved solar eclipse viewers will be available for students, faculty and staff to pick up on a first-come, first-served basis, thanks to a generous donation from Pearson. Glasses are also available at your local library and Warby Parker, while supplies last!
This event is weather-dependent. An announcement will be made via email and on mySFC Mobile App to the College community. To learn more, go to NASA's Eclipse website.
Warning: Never look at the sun without special eye protection. When viewing the eclipse, use CE/ISO-approved viewer or glasses at all times when any part of the sun is visible.
