Shortly after Argentine Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected to become the next Pope, a producer from WNBC called St. Francis College History Professor and Franciscan Brother Geoffrey Clement to ask him to talk about the historic event.
This was the third time in recent weeks that Bro. Geoffrey, an expert on Medieval history and the Papacy, appeared on the program New York Nonstop.
For this installment he spoke with WNBC's Pei-Sze Cheng about Pope Francis I and the significance of the election of the first Pope from outsied of Europe in several hundred years.
