Deloitte Ceo William Parrett '67 Honored at Charter Award Dinner

St. Francis Alumnus Receives Honorary Degree

St. Francis College conferred an Honorary Degree on alum William Parrett '67, CEO of Deloitte & Touche at the College's annual Charter Award Dinner held at the Pierre Hotel, Tuesday, April 10.

"I credit St. Francis College, along with my parents, for instilling in me important values like honesty and integrity," said CEO Parrett. "They have served me well throughout my personal and professional life at Deloitte. I draw on these values constantly and consider them fundamental to meeting the expectations of the clients I serve and building the trust of my profession."

More than 350 attendees helped raise more than a quarter of a million dollars at the dinner, which is the school's largest annual fundraiser. Parrett was joined by his wife, six children and 50 fellow Deloitte partners and colleagues at the dinner.

"It may have been forty years ago, but I still have fond memories of Professor Charlie Savage and Professor Schwarz," Parrett added when he received his Doctorate for Humane Letter. "And today, President Macchiarola continues to provide leadership and inspiration for the students of St. Francis."

Over the years, the accounting program at St. Francis has turned out countless accountants who work in all fields, including at the four major accounting firms. The schools new five year combined Bachelor's and Master's degree in

Accounting is the first graduate program at St. Francis and is quickly expanding the number of students enrolled.

The Charter Award Dinner commemorates the anniversary of when St. Francis received its charter from New York State and become a fully accredited college.

St. Francis College, founded in 1859 by the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn, is located in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. Since its founding, the College has pursued its Franciscan mission to provide an affordable, high-quality education to students from New York City's five boroughs and beyond.
