Forbes & Money Honor SFC Again

9th Straight Year on Forbes Top Colleges List
3rd Year on Money's Best Colleges

When it's time to decide on the right college to invest your tuition dollars, a good place to start is with two of the most trusted magazines covering the financial world, Forbes and Money. Both magazines have again selected St. Francis College for their annual college rankings; Forbes for the 9th straight time and Money for the 3rd year in a row.

The Forbes list of America's Top Colleges puts a large focus on return on investment; measuring things like graduation rate, student debt, and post-graduate success. The magazine also examines whether a college is fiscally sound.

"We're proud to be included on this list of very prestigious institutions and hope these types of achievements will continue to help spread the word about St. Francis College," said President Brendan J. Dugan '68. "We owe it to our faculty, staff, and very motivated students who are succeeding on every level, and serve as excellent ambassadors showing off our quality, private college education."

Money magazine also looks at college as an investment, writing that it's the second largest expense for most families after buying a house. They base their ranking on a combination of "a great education, at an affordable price, that helps students launch promising careers."

"When you attend St. Francis College you are being taught by highly respected professors in small classrooms," said Provost Timothy Houlihan. "Our goal is to forge relationships that will help students bridge from the classroom to a career."

St. Francis College begins the Fall 2016 semester with Terrier Tuesday, September 6, and a block party where all new students can learn about clubs and activities as well as mix with their classmates for the next four years.

Fall Open House is scheduled for Sunday, October 23.

St. Francis College, founded in 1859 by the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn, is located in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. Since its founding, the College has pursued its Franciscan mission to provide an affordable, high-quality education to students from New York City's five boroughs and beyond.
