Music, Dancing and Fun on the Last Day of Classes

Student Government hosts 1st Student Appreciation Day

As students were finishing their course work on the last day of the spring semester at St. Francis College, the Student Government Association (SGA) was hosting its last event of the year, Student Appreciation Day. This new event was held by the SGA to celebrate the student body and join them in their excitement as another school year came to a close.

Emceed by Jamaal Womack, president of the Student Government Association, students were treated to music, food from Acquista Food Services and giveaways, including gift cards to Barnes & Noble, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and several eateries. "The idea behind the gift cards was to help students with their expenses, whether it was their cell phone bill, food during finals week or book expenses for summer or fall classes. Every little bit counts," said Peter David Gonzales, chair of the Student Appreciation Day Planning Committee.

Antonio Prisco ’11, a sophomore at St. Francis DJ’d the event which had students dancing for more than four hours in the newly renovated cafeteria.

“The SGA wishes all the students a happy and relaxing summer, and to the graduates the SGA wishes them all the best as they begin a new phase in their lives. Congratulations!” added Gonzales.
