St. Francis College welcomed back alumna Lauren K. Alleyne '01 to read from her collection of poems, Difficult Fruit, on Friday, April 4.

Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Lauren earned her Bachelor's Degree in English and Creative Writing from St. Francis College before earning Master's Degrees from Iowa State University and Cornell University. She is now Poet-in-Residence and Assistant Professor of English at University of Dubuque in Iowa.
