Jeremy Williams ’13 took advantage of SFC Job Bank and is now working at the Law Offices of Longo & D'Apice. An English major, Jeremy met with the Assistant Director of the Career Center, Cheretta Robson, who helped him get started.

“Ms. Robson was straight forward with how hard I had to work to polish myself up to become marketable. You don't find that everywhere!” said Williams. “Some people aren't willing to put the time and effort into their students.”

Williams is using his experience seeing how a real law firm works to prepare him to attend law school.

Besides help with your resume and job postings, SFC Job Bank and Optimal Resume also offer:

  • Tips on cover letters,
  • Virtual interviewing, and
  • Information on career fairs and workshops.

Accounting Major Bayo Ogunyemi ’15 used the tools to fine-tune his resume and find an internship at Brooklyn Tax and Accounting Services.

“I discovered the SFC Job Bank and Optimal Resume through the career center,” said Bayo. “It was very simple when I went online. The Career Center also helped me with pre-interview training.”

Bayo credits the internship experience with teaching him a great deal about individual and corporate tax preparation. He also learned how to use QuickBooks.

All current students can take advantage of SFC Job Bank and Optimal Resume, but the Career Center wants to make sure all alumni know they can use the service too.
