Speak Up! a Spoken Word Event With Denice Frohman
The St. Francis College LGBTQ Club and Colorful Souls hosted Speak Up! A Spoken Word Event as part of the colleges first Pride Week on March 27, 2017 with spoken word artist Denice Frohman (Dear Straight People).

Five St. Francis students also shared their poetry at the event which kicked off a week of LGBTQ programming at the College and included a photography booth, a forum on being opening gay in the workplace, and a trip to Stonewall Inn, site of the riots that are credited with launching the gay rights movement.
Students who participated are Christine McCoy, Anya Nova, Dnny Fisher, Niehely Sosa and David Hubert.
The event was moderated by Adriannah Rodriguez, President of the LGBTQ Club and sponsored by the English Department and Women's Poetry Initiative.
