Spring 2023 Commencement Details Announced
On Thursday, May 18, St. Francis College (SFC) will hold commencement exercises for approximately 500 students.
The ceremony — scheduled to begin at noon at the Coney Island Amphitheater — will recognize students who are candidates for associate’s, bachelor’s, post-baccalaureate or master’s degrees. Acting president Tim Cecere will be among the SFC leaders addressing students, faculty members and other invitees. Dr. Jennifer Lancaster, the College’s vice-president for academic affairs and academic dean, will announce the candidates’ names and present awards.
Speakers at the ceremony will include Melissa Gonzalez, a candidate for a B.S. in nursing, who will deliver the valedictory address. Ashtyn Van Horn, a candidate for a B.A./M.A. in psychology, will introduce the keynote speaker, Helen Arteaga Landaverde, the chief executive officer of NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst.
