St. Francis Launches New Website
New Look, Video & Personalization Enhance Site for Prospective & Current Students
Big changes are online now at the St. Francis College website, www.sfc.edu. The upgraded website features a new look, video clips, personalization technology that customizes the site to each individual user and much more.
"It's important to come to our website and be able to easily learn as much about the College as possible," said President Frank Macchiarola '62. "This new website gives you what you want to see; from a story about award winning chemistry student Michael Estrella to a spotlight on criminal justice professor Emily Horowitz receiving attention for her work on wrongful convictions to an upcoming concert of folk music."
"We needed a website that reflected all the great things that are going on at St. Francis College," said Vice President of Government and Community Relations Linda Werbel Dashefsky. "This new site allows us to highlight everything from the appearance of our Men's Water Polo team on the cover of the sports page of The New York Times and upcoming events like author Leslie Bennetts speaking about The Feminine Mistake, to special programs and successful alumni. Besides being a good resource for current students and alumni, it also brings us closer to our Brooklyn Heights community and keeps everyone up to date on things they can do at the College like swimming and major motion picture screenings."
The website is broken down into various sections such as Academics, Current Students, Alumni & Friends and Athletics, which takes users to another new website, www.SFCAthletics.com. Another section is for Prospective Students.
"When a High School student is checking us out, they are looking for very specific things, said Director of Admissions John McAuliffe. "With just a few clicks on their end, we can now put our best foot forward immediately. That lets them know if St. Francis will be the right school for them and then they can start the application process immediately online."
St. Francis College, founded in 1859 by the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn, is located in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. Since its founding, the College has pursued its Franciscan mission to provide an affordable, high-quality education to students from New York City's five boroughs and beyond.
