St. Francis Named to New Best Value List
Ranked 47th Best Value in Nation by Value Colleges
More academic accolades for St. Francis College, this time as Value Colleges ranked St. Francis 47 in the nation on the organization's Top 50 Best Value Colleges list.
"The mission of Value College is providing prospective students with a practical, thorough guide to the most financially sound investments in higher education degrees," the organization writes on its website.
Value Colleges places an emphasis in its rankings on which challenges meet the needs of "first-generation, non-traditional, and low-income students, who need the credentials of a college degree now more than ever."
In its assessment of St. Francis Value Colleges writes:
"St. Francis College keeps their tuition at a lower level for a private New York college, with generous financial aid.
Because of their policies, St. Francis College has been recognized for its diversity, while its strongest programs are directed toward giving students access to professional life where they can do the most good for others: areas such as education, business, psychology, and the sciences are among SFC's strengths. A celebrated faculty and a small faculty-to-student ratio gives students the support and preparation necessary for success in school and career."
Over the past month, St. Francis College has been recognized by a number of publications. U.S. News & World Report selected St. Francis College for seven lists, including Best Regional Colleges in the North, Least Debt, and best value.
Earlier in the summer Forbes and Money magazines once again recognized St. Francis on their best colleges lists, basing the accolades on high-quality education and for providing a good return on investment.
Another regional publication, Washington Monthly, placed the college 13th best in the Northeast for Best Bang for Your Buck. That's ahead of hundreds of other colleges, including several Ivy League schools.
St. Francis College will be hosting an Open House on Sunday, October 23 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
St. Francis College, founded in 1859 by the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn, is located in
