St. Francis Students Spread Holiday Cheer

Bring Toys to Children at New York Methodist Hospital

Two St. Francis College students made sure children at New York Methodist Hospital were not left out of the holiday of season this year when stopped by the Pediatric Ward for a special toy delivery before Christmas.

Elizabeth Girón ‘12, President of the St. Francis Pre-Med and Health Professions Club along with fellow Biology Major And Treasurer of the club Noemi Rivera ’12 collected the toys and managed to find time to deliver them in-between studying for and taking their finals.

“It was great to see the smiles on the children’s faces,” said Noemi. “It was truly an uplifting moment.”

“It was nice to see that such a small act could really set such joy in some children’s faces,” Elizabeth.

St. Francis College, founded in 1859 by the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn, is located in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. Since its founding, the College has pursued its Franciscan mission to provide an affordable, high-quality education to students from New York City’s five boroughs and beyond.
