It was a record setting year on the links at the 12th Annual St. Francis College Meadow Brook Golf Outing as golfers and their families and friends raised nearly $270,000 for St. Francis scholarships.

Assisi Journal Unveils Volume 2, Issue 1:More Than 50 Works Included for Journal of Arts & Letters
Dr. Wendy Galgan is proud to announce the release of Volume 2, Issue 1 of Assisi: An Online Journal of Arts & Letters. The issue, with layout and design by Vanessa De Almeida '00, contains more than 50 submissions and runs 70 pages.

Center of Excellence in Project Management Launches With Practical Research Forum Hosted With Project Management Institute (Pmi)
More Than 120 Project Management Professionals and Academics from New York's biggest companies and the Tri-State areas best colleges came to St. Francis College for the inaugural event of the Center of Excellence in Project Management at St. Francis College on Friday, June 10. The First Annual Practical Research Forum, a day-long event of lectures which brought together academic theory and real world project management experiences, was produced with the support of the Project Management Institute.

For the last four years, winter break has meant taking another college course for a select group of St. Francis College students; but you won't hear them complaining. The classroom this winter was the underwater ecosystem, beaches and National Parks of the Virgin Islands.

Building Apple Apps for College Credit
In her third year as Information Technology professor at St. Francis College, Esther Klein has crossed the digital divide from a lifelong PC user to being on the cutting edge of Apple technology. She now teaches students to program applications for the Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

St. Francis Choir Director Dr. John Motley Passes Away
Dr. John Motley, Director of the St. Francis College Choir for 14 years passed away May 22 after a long illness. In the 1960's, as Director of Music for the New York City Public Schools, Dr. Motley formed the All City Concert Choir. For two decades, the group sang at venues like Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center; for dignitaries including President Jimmy Carter, Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir, Pope John Paul II and Mayors Abe Beame and John Lindsay; and with musicians like Dizzy Gillespie and opera singers Marian Anderson, William Warfield and Camilla Williams.
