Faculty & Staff

Foster On-Campus Talent

Faculty and staff play an important role in equipping students to be career-ready. One way the Center for Career Exploration provides cutting-edge professional development programs and resources is by forging relationships between faculty, staff and students. Scroll down to learn more about taking part in our collaborative process.

Partnering with the CCE

From major selection and graduate school applications to resumes and career paths, students often seek advice from faculty and staff. The CCE team is here to help facilitate these relationships, which can continue beyond graduation as students enter the workplace and pursue advanced education.

The CCE team supports both undergraduate and graduate students from the earliest stages of career exploration through alumni career development. Our advisors provide students with resume and cover letter writing support, self-assessment, choosing a major and exploring career options, networking, internship and job searches, interviewing, graduate school applications, transition to the workplace and much more.

Below are some ways faculty and staff can partner with the our team.

Classroom Visits

We are happy to visit your class to provide students with a variety of career development topics. We are also happy to invite a guest speaker to your classroom, as long as we have ample time to arrange for an outside speaker.

Career & Major Exploration

We offer a variety of self-assessment tools such as Focus2, MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory, along with the comprehensive career management system, Handshake.

We believe a major does not determine or limit a student's career options. Unless a student is planning to enter a field that requests specific educational training or credentials, such as Accounting or Nursing, the CCE team works closely with students to help them assess their personalities, skills, interests and values, exploring many career possibilities.

Job & Internship Search Resources

The CCE offers resources for students and alumni to search for jobs, internships, on-campus employment positions and research and volunteering opportunities.

Handshake is the College’s comprehensive career management platform where students and alumni can connect with employers for jobs, internships and career events.

Employer Development & Partnerships

The CCE plans for a significant number of career events such as employer information sessions, job and internship fairs, networking panels and graduate school forums. We also cultivate new employers throughout the year to develop meaningful recruitment partnerships.

As a supportive partner, we ask for your help with:

  • Announcing career events in your classes and encouraging all students to attend relevant events.
  • Promoting relevant jobs and internship opportunities.
  • Referring students to our team for career-related questions.
  • Offering extra credit for your students to attend our events.
  • Sharing student outcomes and employer referrals with our team.
  • Recommending companies or industry contacts for us to conduct outreach.

Student Success Stories

We strive to amplify the success stories of our students, academic programs and the institution at large. We welcome your assistance in tracking job and internship data for current students and alumni. Having this information allows us to form strategic partnerships with a variety of employers. Share any student success stories by emailing us at [email protected].
